I live in Charlestown Oaks (actually have two units, one of which I rent). I was the first owner here and I love the development for the following reasons:
It has old growth trees--it was not clear-cut for construction and the township did a great job of requiring the builder to plant trees.
Secondly, my two sons went to Great Valley Middle and High Schools. The convienence of being about 1 mile away for all the school activities was wonderful.
There are hiking trails in the woods in which I can walk my dog and let him off the leash.
It is 2 minutes to Rt 202 , 10 mins. to the turnpike, 8 min. to the Exton mall, Home Depot, 10 min. to King of Prussia, 35 min (non rush hour) to Philadelphia.
The homes are well appointed. I own the builder's model (which will be available for rent June 15 if you are interested--or perhaps sale by owner if interested in buying) as well as a more modest unit accross the street. They are laid out nicely--get many compliments on the light, airy feel in the units. Garages are tucked underneath, so you need to go up a flight of stairs to enter the main living area (if that is a concern). It is a well-maintained community and the board does a good job of keeping the standards up without being overbearing. I would recommend the community.
