Melissa, the answer to your question will not provide you with any meaningful data. The price per foot varies wildly depending upon size, quality and features. What you need to do is interview several builders who build the type of home you are interested in constructing. I can be of assistance if you would like a few builder referrals. Just ask.

Melissa, this is a month late, but maybe still in time to help you or others with a similar question. I would recommend that you contact the Home Builders Association of Louisville http://(www.hbal.com, 502-429-6000) to see what you can glean from their files. While I am a Realtor and Auctioneer, I am also an Associate Member of HBAL. Your question is much more likely answered by an HBAL member than a Realtor.
