Hi Karin, Its not a straight forward answer. Usually a financial person needs to run credit and financial to get you a proper answer. We have some one in house that can do that on the phone for you . There is no obligation or fees to get those answers.. Generally people put down 20% of purchace price. It can be as low as 3% depending on the loan. All this is determined after salary and credit report. It is a great time to get into the market. Houses are really at a low and so are morgage rates. As Francine said, it is best to speak with a mortgage rep who can review your financials and determine the best mortgage option for you. Once you have a pre-approval it will be easier to determine where to start looking for a home.

Right now in Freehold Township 3 bedroom, 2+ bath townhomes range from $260,000 to $340,000. Single Family 3 bedroom homes range from $300,000 to $550,000.

A typical closing takes 45-60 days therefore it is best to contact a mortgage rep ASAP.
