Old Fashioned Value or Modern comfort?

Is it better to buy a new home on Maui? Or an old home tnhat needs TLC?

Last month I would have said "ole fashioned." I think that modern comfort is looking really good now.

Hi Jeff, your question depends on a lot of variables. A new house can sometimes cost a lot more than one needing a little TLC because you still have to landscape, do window treatments and so on. However, depending on the amount of new homes being sold in a development and the phase you would be buying, a new house tends to appreciate faster. Existing homes in need of a lot of TLC can often times be a nightmare for home owners particularly if the home has been neglected. I think your real decision comes down to where you want to live. Rremember, location, location, location and you will not go wrong.

Old fashion value with modern comforts are a great trend,and offer a more homey environment. New homes are great for a short term investment, but older homes have gone thru the settling phase and are easy to judge community lifestyles etc...watch your MLS for sought after areas, and buy low and upgrade!!!CH
