My husband and I want to buy a few acres of land in the mountains.

The catch is that we have a motorhome that we would like to drive to property and hooked up. We are not interested in building a home. At the beach, you cannot do that anymore under code. Is there anywhere in the mountains that you can put in a septic tank and a well under those circumstances. We are looking for a purchase within the next 12 months. We have property to sell at the beach.

I am amazed that this thread continues to pop up, also. I do appreciate the response, and I have saved the contact information; however, the market is still slow on property above 300,000, and until one sells, I will have to wait.

Again, thank all of you for your response.

Linda

I have two acres on the blueridge parkway near where hwy 16 and the parkway intersect. It is very private and untouched. It is bordered on two sides by the parkway. It has a spring on it to suppy safe drinkable water. It is approx. 20 mins. from Ten. and 30 mins from virginia, approx. 1.5 miles from trading post located in Glendale Springs, N.C.. It is mostly large hardwood trees with some spruce pines at rear of property. I would be interested in trade or will sale out right. I am looking for warmer climate due to pain due to injuries which increases in cold weather.

Hi again Linda,

Have you sold the beach property yet? Still waiting. Don't know how this question keeps popping up on the Q&A every few months. I'll search when you email me. Take care. Eddie

Linda,
Hope things are going well! I am not sure if you might be interested but there is a site in Morganton, NC that might be perfect it is a home listing with .49 acres and also a lot beside of it with .46 acres that already has the utilities needed for a mobile home. Just a thought.

Hi,
If you have not sufficiently gained an answer or found property to meet your needs, I will send you information and r. e. guides to help your search. All I need is a upper price range you would consider for this purchase.

Hi Linda,
We just sold a piece of property a month ago where the folks wanted to do just that. The trick is finding unrestricted land with access to power. If you need well and septic, you'd have to install that, of course. Any property with even minimal deed restrictions in going to not allow "camping".

Give me a call at 828-551-6290, or visit us at http://www.brevardncproperty.com and we can talk some more.

Hi Linda
If you haven't visited Franklin, NC, perhaps it can be one of your next long weekenders. We have a huge inventory of unrestricted mountain land upon which you can put your motor home. We are an active, pretty small town nestled in the western North Carolina mountains...easy access to Atlanta, Knoxville, Asheville and Greenville, SC. I would like to be the one to show the area to you! I'm sure you'll love it!

Hi Linda... all answers are correct, you can do that with unrestricted property. I sell lots of land here in McDowell County...we're in "the foothills" it's called, but I say it's "the edge of the mountains" because our elevation runs from 900ft on the low side to over 5000 ft. up near Mt. Mitchell! And boy do we have some views. And Lake James! We're also conveniently located near I-40, so travel up here would be easy! Do let me know if I can help you find some property for your motorhome.

Linda,

You can find unrestricted land in areas within 15 to 20 minutes of Asheville. The key is where do you want to live. I can help you with Brevard and Asheville areas. If you want Hendersonville or Waynesville, I would refer you to another of our agents. My website includes a link to a magazine produced by my company on the various areas in WNC that you may find useful. You can also search the MLS on my website. I do have a "hip pocket" listing for 46 acres in Hominy Valley near Candler for a little over $400K. It is very hilly with lots of trees....not really suitable for a subdivision.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. My website has a lot of information and links that you may find useful.

Linda,
Yes! You can do that in the mountains - as long as you purchase unrestricted land or restricted land that allows that type of activity.

I am in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area in Western North Carolina, just off Rt 40, West of Asheville. We still have unrestricted land here, along with a few sub-divisions that allow mobiles to be used. If you'd like me to send you a few possibilities, let me know.

I can be reach by email at: ShirleyKelley@KW.com or cell: 828-400-6295

Just let me know how much land you'd like and a rough price range!

Talk to you soon,
