There are many homes in Edison and Iselin in your price range. The two stations you can take advantage of are Metro Park, which of course would be easily accessible from Iselin and North Edison and the other is the South Edison train station which is on Central Ave and Plainfield Ave. You might also be interested in Metuchen since it is a very desirable town with a train station. I know that you identified yourself as a new buyer, but I wonder if you are a first time homebuyer. If so, you can take advantage of the $8000 tax credit offered by the state. There is also grant money for 1st time buyers to help with downpayment or closing costs. I would love to assist you with your real estate needs. In Edison there are two listings for new construction to be built with a list price of $399,900 and 1 home "totally rebuilt" at a list price of $400,000. In Iselin there is one listing that is 24 yrs old in your price range. So the short answer is yes but there is not much of a selection. If you are using the services of a buyers agent, they should be able to get this information for you relatively easy. Since the seller of the home pays the buyers agent commission, there is no good reason not to engage the services of a competent buyer's agent.
