I am thinking of relocating to Salisbury, I am a physician, would be working at PRMC. Any suggestions on best local communities for easy commute to PRMC, best school district for our kids (not of school going age yet, but soon), safe neighbourhood for kids, tax considerations would be very much appreciated. I can make a good downpayment and have excellent credit. looking at around $400k single family homes. Thank you.

There are great deals in Nithsdale. Some of the houses in the original neighborhood are listed well below values from a year ago.

I have had alot of recent activity and clients inquiring about real estate in the South-East location of Salisbury, MD. It is close to the college and hospital and many people seem to think that it is not as congested as the South-West area.

Hope that helps. Also, if you are thinking about renting for year or so to get use to the Salisbury area please feel free to check out my current rental list. We specialize in executive rentals and work closly with PRMC and people relocating into the area.

Sincerely,

Hey, I'm not a realestate person, just a common house wife, but my family and I will be in the market to purchase another home soon. I have been looking extensively at salisbury and the surrounding areas. I can tell you that there are some great neighborhoods in Salisbury, but the public school system is not spectacular. I would send the children to a private school (of which there are many great ones to choose from). Another option would be surrounding areas of Salisbury...Mardela Springs area is nice, more rural than Salisbury, great school district, but a little too behind the times. Delmar school district is awesome, just north of Salisbury, but is lacking is upper-class well-established neighborhoods. Your best bet would be somewhere in south-west Salisbury (think off of Nanticoke Rd., perhaps the Nithsdale area). Hope this helps! Welcome to PRMC & Salisbury!

Hi, I am a local Associate Broker in the Berlin area in Worcester County which is about 30-40 minutes south of the Salisbury area. There are many nice neighborhoods to choose from. Keep in mind, as a REALTOR, we must follow the Federal Fair Housing practices and refer you to the local police department or neighborhood information sites for some of the information you requested. You can try Yahoo Real Estate at http://realestate.yahoo.com/neighborhoods to start a search. If you decide on living in the Salisbury town limits, there are city taxes to take into consideration. Worcester County has lower taxes as an alternative. Feel free to visit my website to get some local information as well as search for a home online. Good luck on your decision to relocate. When you are ready to get more information, drop me an email at sharon@sharoncurtiss.com and I will be happy to answer any other specific questions you may have. http://www.sharoncurtiss.com

Find a Realtor that specializes in knowing the schools, and they should be able to guide you with the communities that will work best for your family. The relationship between good schools and good communities tends to be a symbiotic one. Combine your research online and work with a Realtor and you should be just fine. Jane
