Trisha,
You are not automatically added to a deed if you husband owned before you married. He would have had to put you on the deed. Go to the County Clerk's Office and ask them to pull the deed for you to see if you are on it. The $8000 tax credit is a great deal; hope you qualify.

Trish, I am a Realtor here in Elizabethtown and you can contact me directly at 270-735-1353 and I can connect you with one of my business partners who deal specifically with mortgages. She will be able to help you and would know what options you would have. Give me a call! Thanks, Marsha

Hi Trisha,

One other thing to consider is how long you were married. There are common law rules that might come into play as for as ownership. Check with your divorce attorney.

If you are not on the deed or mortgage...yes you would qualify.
