Hello Susan

I am sorry you have not located a professional yet but pleased you are asking the question. I have just finished teaching the HoMEworks class in South Portland (this morning)and OOB just recently. The class is a great introduction to understanding the foundations of wise homebuying (everything from title insurance, lender and financing selection, budgeting, etc) including selection of a great professional to represent you and most importantly the questions you should ask them when interviewing. Here is the link to YCCAC - York County Community Action Corporation and HoMEworks; it is open to anyone and is a nominal fee for attending. YCCAC manage the class for OOB. If you are thinking about buying it is a great class to help you make great decisions.

It is very important to verify the credentials of the real estate professioanl you are considering working with, their track record in today's market, expertise and knowledge of first time homebuyer financing options and programs as well as their knowledge of the areas and towns that you are considering. Several of our towns and cities have grants and programs that may work well for you depending on your personal circumstances.

I'd be happy to chat to you and understand exactly where you are considering buying; given you are identified here from OOB, you may well be looking to buy there or further south. If you are looking to buy outside of the area of our expertise I can certainly suggest several extraordinarily brilliant brokers for you to consider. If you are considering Saco north, we'd be happy to chat.

All the best

Hi Susan...

I am not a Realtor... but I know some fine realtor's in that market... email me direct if you want some recommendations... jeff@MainesHomeInspector.com

the market has been tough on a lot of professionals... some you may contact may have been forced into taking part time jobs or left the business altogether...

Have a great day and Goodluck!

Susan,

You may want to expand your area for agent consideration. Consider Portland, Scarboro, and Freeport as areas to target a real estate pro.

We have interests in the Higgins Beach area and truly enjoy the area.

We would be happy to refer you to a top agent that could meet your specific real estate needs.

Best regards,
Susan & Bill Eckler
