The best place to get the most recent statistics on crime is your local police department and Brent has provided you a link to a very valuable site for your city research. I've attached a link to our website, which provides a comprehensive snapshot of community demographics, including crime, to the Zip Code level.

Hope this helps.

Your local police department will provide the most recent data. Also, there are plenty of web resources that show crime statistics by city, state.
The best place to start is the Riverside Police Department Website. They split up the city in to West, East, North, and South. Since 92503 is in the West part of the city you can click on the map on the home page and it will give you the stats for Crime in this area.
Click on the link that is provided and then scroll down to the map of Riverside. Click on the West quadrant and the stats pop up and are sorted by a code. The code is given in the legend. It is really cool and updated monthly. Hope this helps.
I would not rely on any crime statistics that are readily available online. Most are updated only once per year...if that. Whit the growth experienced over the past few years, this information, even if updated, may not give you accurate crime data for an area. I would contact the local Sheriff's department substation or, if within city limits, contact the police department for more information.
There are a few great resources around. I think it is best to contact your Community Resource Officer or CRO at the police department. Just call the main non-emergency number and ask to be connected to the CRO. They’re normally very aware of the good and bad areas of the area and can normally give you local statistics. You can also check out http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/ which provides stats based on the FBI uniform crime reports. You might also visit the FBI stats site at http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm#cius. Another place to checkout is http://www.Crimeweb.net . Hope this is of you to you.
Hi Liz,
Great question, I'll bet a lot of people want to know the answer to this. For basic crime and demographic stats, go to http://www.epodunk.com. It works everywhere. For more detailed information, check with your local police department.
Go to the local police department works for me.
Also, here is a link to Megan's Law Go to the bottom of the pages, there is the link to enter into the site.. http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/

Local police department is the way to go. Also check the city ans regional section of the local newspaper. It may not be a good indicator of crime, however it will open your eyes to issues that may affect the community that you are choosing.
You check with you local police department to determine what the crime looks like in the area. Also, be sue to have them separate out the white collar crime from the statistics.
The link I provided in the "web reference" section will bring you to the police department's page showing you the crime statistics depending on the Riverside neighborhood you choose. This link: http://www.cityrating.com/citycrime.asp?city=Riverside&s has a summary of the crime statistics if you wanted to look at something simpler. But remember that this link is the city of Riverside in general, it does not break down the different neighborhoods. Hope this helps.
Liz - Below are just a few of several good links on the web to obtain crime info. You may need to copy & paste the entire link into your web browser. Good luck!

Hi Liz, the best and most accurate source is the police department.
You should be able to find this out through your area chamber office. If not, call your local police dept. They should at be able to point you in the right direction, if they can't give you the information.
Didn’t find what you were looking for? Ask a question!
