Love this amazing school. This is my son's first year and is in 6th grade. Sending him to the Buckley school is the best thing I've done for him. He come home happy and is enthusiastic to return to school everyday. Such amazing teachers, as my son has mentioned so many times 'the teachers are enthusiastic

Wonderful school- Top notch. Their attention to every detail is amazing. Administration and teachers are fantastic. The kids are well rounded- academics, drama, music, art, and sports. We are considering moving and one of the main considerations for a house is staying close to Buckley! Our kid loves

Our son is in Kindergarten there and he & we (his parents) couldn't be happier. His teachers are outstanding. It is progressive but very structured. He is bright but they challenge him. What other LA school has 2 full-time accredited teachers of that caliber for only about 20 students. The other classes
... Read more like PE, Art, Music, Computers, etc. are all terrific. For instance, they have PE 4x/week and the 2 PE teachers make it fun and inventive. The faculty and administration are top-notch. Many have been there for a long time but rather than being jaded or cynical they remain enthusiastic, committed and passionate about teaching, the students and the school. The parents also are diverse, smart, good people with strong values and although many are affluent, they don't flaunt it like at other schools. As a parent you feel just as accepted as your child. Looking back on my Buckley experience, I realize that it was everything I could've asked for from my time in school. I never had a bad teacher at Buckley. So many of them are so passionate and eager that they take time out to spend extra time with students. Often times I fostered relationships with
... Read more teachers with whom I did not even have a class. It's incredibly easy to form close bonds with faculty. Now that I've graduated, I find that my former teachers are honestly interested in my collegiate education and progress. The social scene can be slightly stunted, because kids fall into tightly knit cliques rather quickly. (I assume similar things happen at all schools, though.) Nonetheless, I definitely found my niche. Consider Buckley, and once you do, let your child explore, because Buckley has so much to offer. I'm so grateful to Buckley for my upbringing. Read less

My daughter is currently an enrolled 7th grade student at The Buckley School. She has been able to find academic success due to organized teachers who really care about their students. The instructional ways that are taught are both interesting and challenging. My daughter is being taught to take responsibility
... Read more for her life. the is also a major component of the curriculum that also includes community service which I feel is vital to a child's personal growth. The Administration under the leadership of Dr. Larry Dougherty proves that the original four fold plan as layed out as a foundation of Dr. Isabel Buckley is still a vital woven fabric of The Buckley School. The children and their families are wonderful . They are down to earth and really care about the school that they attend. When our daughter came into The buckley School as a new student, she was immediately embraced and welecomed into her new school by her seventh grade class of both new and currently enrolled students who have had their roots there since Kindergarten. The Buckely School has a spirited Physical Education program that encourages all abilities to participate during the seasons of sports.The Performing Arts program is outstanding.Students have an opportunities to express themselves in theatre, orchestra, band by performing in both school and out in the community throughout the year. The Buckley School is a thriving school of 75 years. I highly recommend this school for families to place at the top of their list for the future of their children . The Buckley School is the future! I love this school, my kids went there for middle and high school. Great academics, always art, music and sport opportunities. A loving, nurturing environment and very safe! Impeccably clean. The kids are taught wonderful values and they all do community service willingly.

This school is warm, small, brilliant and gives every student an opportunity to be involved. It is small enough that not just the 'stars' get to play, sing, act etc. but anyone who has the heart and dedication to be involved.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
