This is an awesome school that teaches values in addition to academics. They do well in sports and drama and the kids are very well rounded. Their is tremendous parent support and involvement in this wonderful school.

... Read more mean. I agree with the parent who said you are in or you are out...The Jr High/High School will not listen to advise. They turn on you. Not a healthy Christian environment at all. We now minister to those who need Christ in our public schools. The sports program is amazing and the homework load is heavy, but it is a prep. school and just what he needs to get ready for High School. There are uniforms which make things much easier and our son has not had a problem with it, in fact, he finds it much easier. The daily bible teaching is a huge plus for students entering middle school. We would recommend this school to anyone wanting a Christian environment for their child. Read less

I love SCA, being able to pray in every class is great and having the Christian aspect of things is different then most other schools. The teachers and staff are awesome! With the option of Honors & AP classes in High School, you can be very challenged, I recommend SCA to students and parents.

I can't say enough great things about the school, from the academics, music program, sports, and extra curricular programs that they offer. I graduated from SCA a couple years ago and I frequently find myself reminiscing about the great experiences I had while there. The school and its seasoned faculty provided for me the necessary essentials it takes to succeed in college, as well as in my Christian faith. Additionally, at a high school

All three of my children are SCA graduates and I am so glad that they were able to attend this fine school. Not only did they receive an excellent education, but they were taught biblical truths - a rare thing in today's society! They were given incredible opportunities to participate in missions work

When my youngest son had a college English paper returned this past fall, the professor told him that he was the only student who correctly formatted it. ... Read more create some problems if a particular class has a group of problem kids. It is a Christian school so they expect certain behavior and do the best they can to police the kids. It can be a great experience if you want your child to have a Christian education. I have no doubt from the comments here the school is not for all kids, but I think those are unfortunate situations that are in the minority. Read less

It is not a good school to send your child to if they have any sort of difficulty academically. Do not send your child there if they do not conform to the accepted behavior OR if cannot pretend to conform to the accepted behavior. Accepted behavior places a great deal of importance on outward appearance
... Read more and looking like a well-behaved Christian. Many teachers are not loving and supportive in the way Christians should be. They are judgmental. The administration does not answer to any kind of overseeing authority. They are tyrants. It is true that you should not complain if you go there. However, if you are extremely rich, your complaints will be tolerated much more and you will be able to get away with almost anything. If your child is sensitive and vulnerable, do not send your child to this school, the students can be quite mean and cruel. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.

A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:

creative and productive thinking, the ability to produce new ideas;
leadership ability, the ability to direct individuals or groups to a common decision or action;
visual and performing arts, special talents in visual art, music, dance, drama, or other related studies;
psychomotor ability, such as practical, spatial, mechanical, and physical skills.
Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
