RMHS offers a lot of different oppurtunities for students. Like, Club RIF, NJHS, and their Debate team. The teachers there are great, and from my experiences with teachers they really do care about us students, and they are preparing us for careers that will likely come available in the 21st century.

There are several great programs for advanced academics as well and the school has been given many awards for its top notch teachers. As an orchestra parent myself, I felt that it was only fair to the readers to post and say that I know for a fact that parents were given more than two MONTHS notice about the orchestra field trip (and eight months for this year's!) and my student claims that it was the best trip of her life. The director DOES in fact believe in chair placement. After taking private lessons last year, my daughter did move up several chairs. We have no complaints and are both very happy with the direction the program is going. Read less

I am very impressed with the quality of help my son is recieving in his special education class. While my son is mainstreamed for several classes, Ms. Bocksteller has asssisted in insuring that he gets the supports needed to be successful in those classes She has been a tremendous support to both

Red Mountain is an excellent school. Anyone who says otherwise is taking what they have for granted. The fact that students are able to get a top-notch education is something of which families in less-fortunate settings only dream.

Quality of academics is average at best, my child sometimes has a hard time getting before/after school help from teachers. The quality of music/orchestra class is very poor. Also the orchestra instructor does not believe in rating chairs, never moves the kids up if they deserve it. The field trip
... Read more was poorly handled this year, communication was very bad and 2 weeks notice was given about details of the trip, then they arrived home at 2:15 a.m. on a Sunday. Red Mtn has been a very bad experience for my A student who continues to try to excel. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
Gifted and Talented
A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
