It appears you are in Chicago, IL and buying a home in Cary, NC. Given as you stated you are under contract and in most purchase agreements there are deadlines your earnest money could be at risk, I recommend contacting your agent's brokerage and meeting with the managing broker or broker in charge. I encourage you not to delay. Given your story, it is not clear if you are working with a Realtor. Realtors are licensed agents and brokers who are members of the National Association of Realtors. Not all agents are Realtors. If you are not successful in arranging a meeting with whomever is in charge of the brokerage you are working with for this transaction, then I recommend you contact a NC real estate attorney for assistance and/or the local Association of Realtors in the Cary NC area for assistance.
